In a nutshell

June’s Edito

twDear partner and friend,

It is no coincidence that, according to the Wellcom International Index of corporate values, nearly one out of three companies claims innovation among its top values. Whether it refers to a “pioneering spirit”, “inventive” or even “revolutionary,” the pilot value is now ranked first both in France and abroad (the International Index of corporate values studies the values of more than 4000 companies over 14 countries).

Innovation is a conquest value advocated by companies aiming to draw a distinction, based on both their internal resources (by promoting the initiative) and external ones, in order for the companies to evolve constantly and lead the market.

The history of capitalism is also marked by this journey in which innovation has to create new development to lead to growth but that doesn’t prevent from obstacles that can be philosophical (first sense of the word) or simply cultural. An assessment that wouldn’t be contradicted neither by the B & B Hotels Group whose case study is shared below, nor by Luc Ferry, former minister of Education and pundit interviewed in our previous national newsletter regarding the “destructive innovation”. A relevant idea that echoes Schumpeter’s concept of “creative destruction”, whose issues and limits imposed by our culture have to be understood.

As for me, I wish you an enthusiastic innovation!
